When you open a savings account with us, you are not simply a credit union customer. You are a member, an actual owner of the Credit Union.

Unlike banks that are driven to provide a profit to shareholders, as a credit union we are democratically run and return excess earnings to you by offering lower interest rates on loans, higher yields on savings and investment accounts, and by continuously enhancing and improving the financial products and services offered.

A Longstanding Tradition

Princeton Federal Credit Union was originally chartered in 1972, by the faculty and staff of Princeton University.

Once you become a member of the Credit Union, your immediate family is also eligible for membership. Immediate family member includes:

• • spouse
  • child or grandchild
  • parent or grandparent
  • brother/sister
  • any individual residing in your household.

Once a Member, Always a Member

You are welcome to remain a credit union member for life, regardless of whether you change jobs, graduate, move, or retire.

Now, let's make sure you are eligible to become a member. You are eligible if you answer yes to any of the questions listed below.

• • Are you employed at Princeton University?
  • Are you a student at Princeton University?
  • Is your employer or school one of our Select Employer/School Groups?
  • Are you a member of New Jersey Consumer Council?
  • Are you an immediate family member of someone who qualifies for membership?
  • Are you an immediate family member of a current Princeton Federal Credit Union member?
  • Do you reside in the same household of a current Princeton Federal Credit Union member?
